Keller Students to Manage New Stadium Scoreboard

The Keller Independent School District says the Board of Trustees approved the construction of a video scoreboard at the KISD football stadium that will be managed by students.

The scoreboard will allow for instant replay during games and will benefit students as well as sponsors.

Students will have the opportunity to learn video skills as they manage and produce content for the board. Sponsors such as Orlando Roofing and David Hall State Farm Insurance will receive advertisement exposure during at least 20 varsity football games each year, said Keller ISD.

The Athletic Department announced the corporate sponsors who have entered in the advertisement agreement that will eventually pay for the new addition, said Keller ISD.

The cost of the digital video board, which is 24 feet by 15 feet, will be less than $500,000. This will cover the cost for cameras as well as the renovation of a press box that will be transformed into a control room.

The money invested in creating the board is expected to be recovered within 10 years through the sponsorships, said Keller ISD.
