A Saturday funeral is scheduled for a North Texas prosecutor shot dead by a masked gunman near the county courthouse where the he worked.
The funeral for Kaufman County Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at the Terrell Performing Arts Center.
The 57-year-old prosecutor was shot multiple times the morning of Jan. 31 just after he'd stepped from his car to walk to the Kaufman County Courthouse in Kaufman.
Terrell police plan to have extra security on site for the funeral and will close several roads around the Performing Arts Center fo Hasse's service.
The service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. Attendees planning to pay their respects will not be allowed to bring large bags or backpacks inside the building.
No arrests have been made in the case, but federal, state and local investigators are working to find his killer.
Investigators have been working such long hours that the Kaufman Chamber of Commerce is asking for volunteers to donate food.
Hasse had been with Kaufman County for three years and was a former assistant Dallas County district attorney.
