Garland police say a K-9 officer helped them arrest a man accused of a shooting at an apartment complex that led to a standoff and search.
Police accuse Markus Anthony Wall of shooting a 32-year-old man multiple times at the Spanish Stone Apartments in the 1500 block of Kingsley Road on Sunday afternoon.
According to police, there was a standoff at the complex until Garland SWAT officers entered the apartment and found that the suspect managed to escape.
Police say Wall was spotted at around 8:40 p.m. Monday in the area of Broadway and First Street.
Just after midnight Tuesday, officers arrested Wall after a K-9 officer tracked him to a detached garage that had been broken into behind a home in the in the 100 block of East Carolyn Drive.
Police say the K-9 officer named Scout was deployed and found Wall hiding inside. Wall was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries as he tried to get away from the K-9 officer.
Wall now faces evading arrest and criminal trespass charges on top of the aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond is set at $50,000.
