Johnny's Manziel's Grandfather's House Burned Down

An east Texas fire official says a blaze that destroyed a home belonging to the grandfather of Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel appears to be suspicious.

Fire crews received a call at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday to the fire at the house on Lake Tyler in Whitehouse, belonging to Paul Manziel, Johnny's grandfather.

When officials arrived, the house was engulfed in flames and had already begun to collapse.

Three vehicles were also destroyed.

Officials said no one was at the house at the time and no one had been there for the past two days.

Investigators said that they found evidence that indicates foul pay might have been involved.

A thorough investigation is under way to find the origin of the fire. The state fire marshal's office is bringing in an accelerant-sniffing dog to help.

According to the Smith County appraisal district, the property was valued at around $408,000.

There are no suspects at this time.
