Jaws of Life Used to Pull Officer from Crashed Cruiser

Officer hospitalized after single-car crash

A Fort Worth police officer was injured in a single-car crash along Randol Mill Road east of Oakland Boulevard in east Fort Worth Wednesday morning.

The cruiser ended up off of the road, about 20 feet from a utility pole with heavy damage to the passenger side of the vehicle.

Rescuers used the jaws of life to extricate the officer from the car, who was alert and conscious after the crash. 

The officer was placed on a stretcher to be transported to an area hospital.  His condition is not known.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
