Plano-based J.C. Penney is gearing up for the holiday shopping season.
The retailer said they expect to hire 35,000 seasonal workers in 2014, roughly the same number they brought on in 2013.
Kohl's, Wal-Mart, Target and other retail competitors said they expect to hire more seasonal workers than last year.
According to a report in The Dallas Morning News, Wal-Mart plans to hire 60,000 seasonal workers.
WSIL-TV in Illinois reports that Kohl's plans to hire 70,000 season workers and that courier UPS will hire about 95,000 workers for the holiday season.
