Southwest Airlines announced it will begin charging a fee for passengers who bring small pets on board and for unaccompanied minors.

Southwest airlines unveiled a new ad campaign Monday, one that directly addresses the tough times airlines face right now while  urging customers to get back in the sky.

The ads close with the tag line "Grab Your Bag. It's On."

"Life must go on, even in this economic environment, and our campaign invites customers to enjoy travel this summer," said Kevin Krone, Southwest's vice president of marketing.

Just last week, Southwest announced new fees on extra baggage and a plan to allow customers to travel with small dogs for a fee. Both fees were designed to increase revenue at a time when fewer people are flying.
