Irving emergency crews saved a man from his burning bed early Thursday morning.

Firefighters were called to the Garden Plaza Apartments in the 2700 block of Irving around 2:30 a.m. The woman who called told fire crews said she and her husband, along with three dogs, were trapped inside.

Police arrived and were able to pull the man out of the apartment.

The woman and the dogs were able to walk out of the apartment.

Fire crews say the man was confined to the bed and that's where the fire started.

The man was treated and taken to Parkland. He suffered burns to his arms and smoke inhalation. The woman was checked on the scene and released.

An official cause is still under investigation.
