Iowa Pastor Returns Favor to Ranchers Decades Later

Ranchers dealing with the drought in a Texas community received a helping hand from the pastor of a rural Iowa church.

Rev. Harold McMillin saw the need in Texas while members of his church had a near perfect growing season.

Through donations, his congregation drove nine truckloads of alfalfa hay to Alvarado, where it was then given to those ranchers in need.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, McMillin was inspired by a group of Texas farmers who did the same for residents of Iowa in the 1980s.
