Interruptions Set for DART Rail in Downtown Dallas

Light rail service in downtown Dallas will be halted for six weekends including the Thanksgiving holiday during repairs to Dallas Area Rapid Transit lines.

DART shuttle buses will be in place to serve the affected downtown stations.

According to a press release from the South Oak Cliff Alliance, a community job fair is being held to make information available on potential jobs to work on the project. It will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Singing Hills Recreation Center in the 1900 block of Crouch Road  in Dallas. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m.

The alliance said the sub-contractors participating are Carcon Inudstries, Reyes Group, STL Engineering, MCL Contracting, ATS Drilling, Redi Mix Concrete and EK National Transit.

DART said that the rail service interruption starts this Saturday and Sunday. Rail service will be discontinued the following five weekends to allow crews to replace track along Pacific Avenue and Bryan Street.

The rail service outage over Thanksgiving weekend runs four days, starting on the holiday Nov. 27 and then through Nov. 30.
