Interim Dallas Police Chief Terminates Four Department Employees

Dallas Interim Chief of Police David Pughes terminated four department employees Wednesday, according to a news release.

Police said Sr. Cpl. Keith Huber was fired over "adverse conduct" incidents May 11 and Sept. 22, 2016, The 17 year-veteran was also arrested for felony injury to child and violation of the administrative leave policy. Update: On Oct. 30, 2018, the charges against Huber were dismissed, according to the Ellis County District Clerk's Office.

Investigators said Officer Holly Carter was terminated for not stopping to render aid after being involved in a crash Sept. 7, 2016. Police said she also provided inconsistent and misleading written information in an internal statement.

The release also stated that 911 call taker Tony Marzett was fired for physically assaulting a person and causing serious bodily injury Dec. 31, 2016. The 11 year-veteran was indicted by a Dallas County Grand Jury April 20.

Officials said that Officer Christopher Hess violated the department's felony traffic stop and use of deadly force policies Jan. 18. The 11 year-veteran was involved in a shooting that led to his indictment June 23.

The terminated employees can appeal their terminations according to the news release posted on Facebook Wednesday.
