A South Texas border crossing will be getting an upgrade.

Federal and local officials on Tuesday are scheduled to announce funding and plans for improvements to the Laredo Port of Entry.

Deputy Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and General Services Administration Administrator Dan Tangherlini will be on hand. They're scheduled to detail plans to expand and modernize the nation's 5th largest port of entry.

Congressman Henry Cuellar of Laredo and Mayor Raul Salinas are also expected to participate.
