Icy Patches Showing Up On Area Roadways

Any water that gets on area roadways will freeze quickly due to very cold ground temperatures.

TxDOT says sand trucks are out to sand areas that have ice.

One crash around 12:45 a.m. had westbound Interstate 635 at Preston Road closed. A pickup had hit the center wall due to icy conditions. Police say water pooled in the lanes from the weekend rain.

Another car overturned on the ramp to eastbound Highway 114 from Freeport Parkway in Irving due to ice. That ramp is closed as crews wait for a sand truck.

TxDOT reports there is ice in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 30 near MacArthur Boulevard as well as the westbound Highway 183 at Esters Road.
