Husband Intentionally Crashes Car Into House, Pinning Wife Inside: Police

Woman airlifted to area hospital, police say

A Cedar Hill man was arrested early Tuesday morning after police say he became angry after an argument and intentionally slammed his car into his home, trapping his wife in the rubble.

Police said they were called to a home on the 100 block of Bristol Drive at about 4 a.m. after the man, later identified by police as 48-year-old Scottey Davis, drove his sedan through a wall and into a bathroom, trapping his wife in the debris.

"All this debris was on her, and she's screaming," said neighbor Diane Knott. "Blood curdling scream."

Firefighters freed the man's wife from the debris and she was transported by CareFlite to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. She underwent surgery on her leg Tuesday, though her current condition is not known.

Cedar Hill city spokesman Corky Brown said the couple had been arguing and the dispute escalated. Neighbors said arguing was nothing new, but it never got this bad.

"I thought I was dreaming at first," said neighbor Ciara Hamilton. "But when I woke up I realized I wasn't."

"We just stood there and waited for help to come. That's about all we could do," said Knott.

The crash caused a section of the brick wall to collapse, part of it crashing down on the man's windshield and hood of the car. The collision left behind a huge hole in the front of the couple's home while bricks and other debris littered the front yard.

Police said there were several children inside the home when the incident happened, but none of them were injured.

Davis was arrested and later charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said. He is currently being held in the DeSoto Regional Jail. A bond amount has not been revealed.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
