The Denton County Medical Examiner is trying to determine whose skeleton was found along the highway on Saturday.
The human remains were found by someone walking near I35 between Bonnie Brea Street and West University Drive in Denton.
Investigators said it appears as if the body had been at the site for sometime and they don't know if it is the remains of a man or woman.
Denton police also said it's too early to suspect foul play but for now they are treating the case as a homicide.
