How to Watch Next Week's Total Eclipse, All Around DFW or at Home

Plans are already in place for several viewing parties across North Texas ahead of Monday's solar eclipse.

From about 11:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. the moon will cover a large portion of the sun in a rare event that hasn't been seen in North America for decades.

If you want to attend an eclipse watch party, check out the Frontiers of Flight Museum, the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, the Dallas Arboretum, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History / Noble Planetarium,  the Ray Robert Lake State Park, the UTA Planetarium or the Rockwall County Library.

Some of those events may cost money for admission, but also offer live-stream options. Check the links for more information the individual events.

NASA-TV will also offer coverage from beginning to end, which will be available on several mobile apps and social media platforms.

And for those who may be weary about being scammed by companies offering glasses that do not protect your eyes for viewing the eclipse, the American Astronomical Society shared a list of verified vendors to help you watch the eclipse safely.
