Not sure what to pay your babysitter?
A new survey from care.com revealed the results of its first-ever babysitter survey and some people may be surprised by what they found.
After surveying approximately 1,000 parents, Care.com found the national average pay rate for a babysitter in 2014 was $13.44 per hour.
That is for a full-time caregiver, an after-school sitter or date-night babysitter.
And for some parents, $13.44 an hour is just a base rate.
The survey found that 26-percent of moms and dads also tip their babysitter. And 87-percent of parents give an annual raise to their sitters.
One in ten parents pay an extra $5 per hour if they book a babysitter at the last minute.
