Federal authorities say a 50-year-old Houston man has been arrested on charges he tried to transport explosives to be used to injure people or destroy property.
The FBI and federal prosecutors in Houston say Carry Lee Ogborn was arrested Friday after he bought and picked up from a post office box a package he believed contained the explosives.
The package was obtained through a computer network where online transactions involving illegal goods are made anonymously and where the network is designed to conceal a participant's true internet address.
Authorities say Ogborn thought he was dealing with a vendor but his online contact really was an undercover FBI employee.
Court documents show Ogborn hoped to blow up a building that contained an apartment and a vehicle.
