Hostages After Holdup Gets Man 25 Years

Oklahoma man pleads guilty to Texas bank robbery

An Oklahoma man who held four members of a family hostage following a North Texas bank robbery has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

The Dallas Morning News reported Monday that Floyd Hayden of Tulsa was sentenced this month after pleading guilty to four counts of aggravated kidnapping.

Federal bank robbery charges are pending against Hayden and a co-defendant, James Artberry, also from Tulsa, Okla., over the Aug. 5 holdup in Plano. Artberry also faces kidnapping charges.

Police say two gunmen fled after the robbery, but their getaway vehicle broken down in the parking lot and the suspects ran.

A police dog tracked the men to a house, where two adults and their two grandchildren were being held hostage. Police have said one resident was slightly hurt.
