Holiday “Grinch” Damages Family's Christmas Decorations

A holiday "Grinch" continues to damage Christmas decorations at a Corinth family's home.

The Dominguez family has filed three police reports about the vandalism that has happened five times since Thanksgiving.

“This is a tradition for us," Dominguez said. "We always decorate the house, to enjoy it."

Esther Dominguez makes sure her entire yard is covered with Christmas lights every year. There are strings of lights, Santa, and a sleigh on their lawn in Corinth.

The best time of the year for the Dominguez family has become the most upsetting. It is also expensive for them. They keep fixing and replacing the lights, to keep the important family tradition going.

“It is hard to sleep at night knowing somebody is coming to my house, vandalizing my property,” said daughter Brenda Dominguez.

Dominguez says she gets along with everyone at school.

Her family has no idea who would do this.

They have filed several police reports, but don't want to press charges. The family sayd they just want this to stop, so they can have a Merry Christmas.

The family is considering adding cameras to their house, but that cost is not one they had anticipated at Christmas.

“I just want them to realize they damaged our family,” Esther Dominguez said.
