High School Senior Killed in Car Crash

Teens returning home from varsity soccer game in Wichita Falls

A Byron Nelson High School senior died on Saturday night after being involved in a single car crash.

Joshua Hernandez, 18, and his twin brother Jesse, were on their way home from a varsity girls regional soccer playoff game in Wichita Falls when the crash took place.

The Texas Department of Transportation said Joshua was driving the vehicle when he somehow traveled off the roadway, overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle along U.S. 81/287 near Alvord.

Both brothers were taken to Wise Regional Hospital in Decatur for treatment. Joshua was later transferred to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, where he later died.
