Head-On Collision on Rural Collin County Road Kills 2 Men

Two Farmersville men have died in a car accident on a Collin County highway.

Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Sgt. Lonny Haschel tells The Dallas Morning News that the crash was reported just north of Copeville on Highway 78 around 9:15 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities say 28-year-old Anastacio Rosas was driving south on Highway 78 when he crossed the center line of the two-lane road and crashed head-on into a sedan. Rosas died shortly after being airlifted to a hospital in Plano.

The driver of other car, 57-year-old Robert Crider, died at the scene. A passenger, whose name hasn't been released, was also airlifted to the hospital in Plano with serious injuries.

Haschel says investigators haven't determined what caused Rosas to veer onto the wrong side of the highway.
