    Teen shot after pointing weapon at officers, police say.

    Garland Police say a gun-toting high school student was shot by Sachse police 100 yards away from the Sachse city limit in Garland about 11:15 a.m. Monday.

    Police say the young man had been reported by neighbors to be wandering around the area with a hand gun at about 10:45 a.m.

    Police from both cities responded to the area.

    Police say the young man had been reported by neighbors to be wandering around the area with a hand gun. Police say the teen pointed a gun at police and the officers fired back.

    Garland Police Officer Joe Harn said the suspect pointed his gun at the Sachse officers after they told him to put it down.

    The suspect was transported by helicopter to a Dallas hospital with major injuries. He has not been identified.
