Growth Fueling More Business at McKinney Airport

The construction boom in Collin County is boosting bottom lines for many businesses.

In fact, McKinney National Airport is on pace to set a record number of flights this year.

Toyota and Texas Instruments are two big-name businesses that lease hangars at the airport.

Thursday, a company called Texas Air Shuttle began flying in and out of the airport.

It's a membership service for business travelers offering flights from McKinney to Houston, Austin and San Antonio.

The medical helicopter CareFlite also relocated to the airport this week.

Airport Assistant Director Mark Jaraczewski says all the airport's hangar space is full.

Right now, hangar space is completely full.

In fact, he says its newest hangar was rented out before it opened this week.

The biggest challenge moving forward may be keeping up with demand.

“It’s amazing. It’s challenging making sure we have the right work force to support the demand,” he said.
