Rollcoasters and suds may not be mixing after all.

A Fort Worth group has asked state regulators to rehear a request to sell alcohol at Six Flags Over Texas and Hurricane Harbor.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission granted a request last week for to begin selling beer at the two Arlington amusement parks.

But Texas Sober Inc. has filed a formal request for a rehearing, saying the initial hearing was not conducted in a "full or fair manner." The group said the hearing did not provide enough opportunity for public input, because the hearing was held during business hours on a Tuesday.

The initial public hearing was held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 14, 2008.

A rehearing should be scheduled at a convenient time and day that will allow "maximum input from the public," the group's request stated.

Texas Sober also said the further hearings, which were closed to public input, "disenfranchised" the public. Only two people opposed to Six Flags' request were allowed to participate in those hearings.

The head TABC administrator has 45 days from the Feb. 25 ruling to determine whether or not to grant a rehearing.
