Grocery Store Worker Dies Days After Shooting

Man was walking to his vehicle when he was shot

Police are asking for help to determine who fatally shot a man walking to his vehicle after his shift at a grocery store.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that 38-year-old Yasir Elsadig died Thursday at John Peter Smith Hospital. He was shot after finishing his shift Wednesday evening at Larry's Grocery and Market.

Authorities say Elsadig, who moved to Texas from Sudan about 12 years ago, was walking to his vehicle when approached by two men wearing masks. One of the men pointed a rifle at Elsadig, who was shot after a struggle began over the weapon.

His sister-in-law Novella Elsadig of St. Louis said he "would have never harmed anyone no matter what the circumstance."
