Grass Fire Burns Along I-30 in Fort Worth

A Fort Worth firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion after battling a grass fire along Interstate 30 Friday night.

Several fires burned along Interstate 30, including a large grass fire between Beach Street and Oakland Boulevard.

The Fort Worth Fire Department said 18 units, including fire engines, brush trucks and water tankers responded to the fire.

One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion.

The fire was under control at about 8 p.m., and crews remained on the scene to clean up hot spots.

Firefighters closed two lanes of traffic along eastbound I-30 to fight the fire. Traffic was unwinding later in the night.

The Fort Worth Fire Department said the grass fires did not cause any major damage.
