The gas leak was reported at about 7:30 p.m. Monday along East Dallas Road, near Twilight and Rainbow trails.

According to City of Grapevine spokeswoman Amanda McNew, 73 homes were evacuated or were otherwise unoccupied as crews worked to fix the leak. People affected were being directed to a shelter at the REC Center.

A news release from the city said a private contractor was doing work when the leak occurred. Atmos was called to investigate the gas leak, and Oncor helped monitor, because electricity had to be shut off in the area.

Nobody was injured or treated for exposure to the gas.

As of 4 a.m. Tuesday, the scene was cleared, and there appeared to be no one staying overnight at the REC Center shelter.
