Grandview Woman Charged in Boyfriend's Death

Police said they arrested a Grandview woman and charged her with the murder of her boyfriend Sunday night.

Grandview police officers said they responded to a call of a disturbance at an apartment complex in the 500 block of West Criner Street at about 9 p.m. The caller, 35-year-old Darlene Christy Mullins, told the operator she was in an altercation with her boyfriend, police said. She said she pulled out a knife and he was bleeding.

When officers arrived, police said they found an unresponsive man with blood on his shirt. Medical officials pronounced him dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.

Investigators said they arrested Mullins after interviewing her. She was booked into the Johnson County Jail for murder.

Police said they are still investigating the incident.
