The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a 15-year-old Texas boy has drowned while swimming in Greer County.

Authorities say Byron Hill of Grand Prairie, was swimming Monday night in an area of Lake Lugert that wasn't designated for swimming.

Authorities say the teen was about 10 to 15 feet off shore when he went under.

Another swimmer pulled him to the surface but emergency crews were unable to resuscitate the boy.

Hill was pronounced dead at the scene.
