Grand Prairie Changes Drilling Rules

Drilling in Grand Prairie pushed back to 1,000 feet.

The rules have changed for drilling in Grand Prairie.

On Tuesday, city leaders adopted a new ordinance that stipulates how far a rig can be from homes.

The old perimeter, set at 500 feet, has been pushed out to 1,000 feet.

The ordinance is in response to complaints from residents who said drilling was taking place too close to home.
