Grand Jury Clears Grand Prairie Police Officers in Teen's Shooting

A North Texas grand jury has declined to indict three suburban Dallas police officers in the fatal Christmas Day shooting death of a 16-year-old suspect.

The Tarrant County grand jury declined the indictment Tuesday in the fatal shooting of Peyton Cole Barbour of Mansfield in a Grand Prairie shootout after a high-speed vehicle and foot chase. Two Grand Prairie officers were wounded in the shootout.

A statement from The Tarrant County district attorney's office said the officers' identities will be withheld since none were arrested, charged or indicted.

The chase that culminated in the shootout began when Grand Prairie officers stopped a vehicle driven by Barbour and attempted to question him before he sped away.
