Granbury ISD Narrows Superintendent Search to 1

Final hiring action to take place April 17

Schools in Granbury are one step closer to choosing a new superintendent.

The Granbury School Board chose James Largent as the lone finalist Monday night in their search for a leader.

“Dr. Largent is an incredible leader, and we know that he will help move Granbury ISD forward,” said school board president Charlie Cloud, on the GranburyISD.org website.  “We look forward for our staff and community to meet him.”

Largent comes from East Texas where he has spent 14 years as superintendent, 11 years at Rusk and 3 at Chireno.

Largent, who holds masters and doctoral degrees from Sam Houston State University, began his educational career in 1987.

The district expects to formally hire him in April 17, after a state-mandated 21 days have passed after naming the lone finalst.
