Girls Recognized for Raising $20,000 for Dallas Police With Lemonade Stand

Two young girls, 12-year-old Lauren Roach and 11-year-old Landry Nelon, raised $20,000 for Dallas police

Two young girls raised $20,000 for Dallas police through their lemonade stand and on Tuesday they were recognized for their service.

12-year-old Lauren Roach and 11-year-old Landry Nelon set up the lemonade stand following the Dallas police ambush on July 7.

On Tuesday, the girls presented the Assist the Officer Foundation with a check for $20,000. They also got to stop by the Dallas Police Association to check out the wall honoring the fallen officers.

The girls said many people came up to donate and didn't want lemonade or brownies in return.

"At first, we thought we'd be lucky to get $100, we never thought we'd get this much," said Lauren Roach. "They took 10 seconds of time to hang a $20 bill out their window for the Dallas police."

The girls say they've been amazed at how generous everyone has been. Dallas police said they were touched by the overwhelming show of support.
