Police say the death of a 5-year-old Southeast Texas girl after she drank lighter fluid has been ruled an accident.
Dickinson police said Wednesday that no charges are expected against the mother of 5-year-old Kyndal-Rae Eldridge.
Authorities say the girl died Tuesday at a Houston hospital where she was transported following Saturday's incident. Her 5-year-old sister was treated and released from another hospital after also drinking lighter fluid from the unmarked water bottle.
Dickinson police say the mother says the bottle had been in a car door panel since July Fourth. Authorities believe the girls drank the liquid as their mother stopped at a gas station to fill up.
