Girl Scout Cookies Headed To Your Door

Cookie sales kick off at the Fort Worth Zoo

Thousands of Thin Mints and Caramel deLites cookies may be in your neighborhood right now!

Many North Texas Girl Scouts and their parents picked up more than 30,000 cases of Girl Scout Cookies Saturday.  The gathering at the Fort Worth Zoo helped kick off annual sales and celebrations of the organization's 100th Anniversary.

"The activity of selling cookies teaches girls 5 essential business skills: goal setting; decision making; money management; people skills; and business ethics," said Debbie Turner, Director of Product Sales for the local council.

All cookies are $3.50 per box, with all proceeds benefiting local Girl Scout troops. The Cookie Sale will begin in the Fort Worth Region on January 6 and will be ongoing until February 19.

If you are hungry for the cookies but do not know a young salesperson, you can order them online here.  There's also a new iphone app for the tasty treats.
