Authorities in San Antonio are investigating why a 5-year-old girl was left tied up and abandoned behind a fast-food restaurant.
Police Sgt. Patrick Day said they received a call about 2:30 a.m. Friday from a drug store employee who spotted the child alone behind a nearby Burger King.
Police have tracked down the girl's father, who says she'd been in the care of her mother, his estranged wife. The child has been reunited with her father. Her mother's whereabouts aren't immediately known.
The girl had marks on her wrists consistent with being tied up, but police say she is otherwise not hurt.
Day said investigators are looking into whether any charges will be filed against whoever abandoned her.
