Residents living in a 1/8 mile radius of the LABC well site on Little Road evacuated as a precaution late Saturday and Sunday. No injuries were reported.

The incident began around 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon when Vantage Energy operators reported an issue with the fracking operation at the LABC site. The company told Arlington Fire Rescue the issue resulted in a flow back of pressurized fracking water.

The city said the well was sealed at 2:45 p.m. by the well control company Boots and Coots. As a result, the city lifted evacuations and closed an Emergency Evacuation Center and Resident Information Center set up by Arlington Fire Rescue and the Red Cross.

Crews from the city of Arlington, Vantage Energy, and Boots and Coots worked all night Saturday and all day Sunday to control the leak.

"This is a very serious situation," said Arlington Fire Chief Don Crowson said in a city press release. "To get this incident under control, we worked closely with all city departments, Vantage Energy, AISD, the Red Cross, and our faith-based organizations."
