Garland Man Dies in Police Shooting

The incident happened Saturday night in a residential neighborhood in Garland.

A Garland police statement says a caller reported a man waving a pistol around outside. When officers arrived, he allegedly lowered the handgun in the officers' direction in a threatening manner. The officers fired, fatally wounding the man.

A police statement released Sunday identified the man as 66-year-old James Howard Kincaid.

The statement says the officers involved in the shooting will be placed on paid administrative leave pending completion of an investigation.
