A Frisco teen who was paralyzed in a crash just weeks before graduation returned home Thursday from rehab to see his street lined with dozens of his friends clapping, cheering and holding signs with words of encouragement.
"I was pretty overwhelmed, pretty surprised by how many people were outside my house. All the support I've received throughout these last few months, I am just happy to have it," said 18-year-old Logan Saenz.
He became paralyzed on May 19 after a car crash not far from his home.
His parents, Terri and Felix Saenz, said Logan swerved to avoid another driver who had swerved into his lane. Logan overcorrected and lost control of the Jeep, flipping it several times.
The Frisco High School graduate has spent the last six weeks at rehabilitation in a hospital in Houston.
"He will have a different normal than he did before, but he will have a totally normal life and he'll be a happy kid because that's who he is," said Terri Saenz.
His mother has been posting Facebook updates on Logan's progress on the page "Pray For Logan 36" and has received messages of prayer and support from around the world, as well as acts of kindness from neighbors and strangers.

"People I didn't even know stepped up," she said.
"There's no doubt the outcome would have been different if we didn't have that support. It's just given us some sense of relief to know that we're not at this by ourselves," said Felix Saenz.
The support has made Logan more determined to overcome the challenges he now faces.
"If it's an everlasting goal or a goal in the next few years, it's to walk, basically get stronger and make sure my whole body's healthy," he said.
The family plans to retrofit their home for Logan's wheelchair, and Logan's future plans include attending Collin College and the University of Texas at Austin.
