Frisco Students Stage Walkout in Support of Principal

Students at Frisco High School staged a walkout Tuesday in support of their principal.

Principal Sylvia Palacios is leaving Frisco High School at the end of the school year. Last week, Superintendent Jeremy Lyon announced Palacios was taking a new assignment with the district.

According to The Dallas Morning News, Palacios has been at Frisco High School for 12 years and seven of those years she served as principal.

Students and parents covered their cars with messages of support and the hashtag #SaveSylvia. One car read "No one loves her like we do!" and another read "No one loves us like Sylv does."

During the walkout, students carried signs that read "Save Our Sylvia" while others had T-shirts made with Palacios' photo on the front.

Janet Evans Webb joined students outside the school, her son graduated from Frisco High School in 2010.

"This is not right, she is an excellent principal, and these kids are doing what most adults don't do, and that is they're walking for the truth, they're walking to get their principal back," said Webb.

So far no comment from the school district.
