Frisco Police have captured a man suspected of robbing a bank Saturday morning.

David William Rodenberg, walked into the Chase Bank on Main Street in Frisco and shouted that he was there to rob the bank and demanded money, police spokesman Brad Merritt said in a statement.

Witnesses told police they saw Rodenberg run away on foot to a nearby business. He was found in a restroom stall at the Kroger located nearby. A money strap and $2,000 in cash was also found in the area, Merritt said.

Rodenberg has prior convictions for robbery stemming back to the mid 1990's, and police said he was taken into custody peacefully.

"I wish to thank our citizens for their keen observations and assistance and also the responding officers for their swift response and tactics that brought this situation to a quick and successful close," Frisco police Chief John Bruce said in a statement.

An investigation was launched after the incident. No injuries were reported.
