D/FW International Airport gave out free parking for their first annual “Orange Wednesday” promotion.
The promotion started at 6 a.m. Wednesday. The first 1,000 drivers received vouchers for seven days of free premier parking.
By 10 a.m. Wednesday, all free parking passes had been handed out, officials said.
“We wanted to give back to our customers and let them know that we appreciate them,” airport spokeswoman Cynthia Vega said.
This is the first time D/FW Airport has offered seven-day free parking for the Thanksgiving holiday. The airport has had other free parking promotions on Memorial Day and during spring break.
Parking is $24 each day at the terminal.
