Four Injured as Parked Car Pushed into Pedestrians Outside Mall

Four people were hospitalized with minor injuries after a driver crashed into a parked car, pushing the vehicle into them, police said.

Fairview Chief of Police Granver Tolliver said a 56-year-old driver was pulling into a parking spot outside the JCPenney store at The Village at Fairview mall when she hit the parked vehicle.

The parked vehicle then lurched forward and hit several people waiting outside the store.

A teenage girl was briefly pinned underneath the car, but witnesses were able to lift the car enough to free her.

Another woman pushing a stroller was also hit; the baby was not injured.

All of the injuries are minor and include no broken bones or anything significant.
