Fort Worth Teacher Reportedly Separated Kids by Race

School district investigating after parents say music teacher separated students by race, made racist remarks

The Fort Worth school district is investigating reports that an elementary school teacher separated students by race and made insulting remarks.

Parents say a teacher at Hazel Harvey Peace Elementary School made racial remarks to and about the students Friday.

The Fort Worth Independent School District is investigating the reports, which involve a fifth-grade music teacher. The teacher's name has not been released.

"Campus and district leaders have been aware of the allegations since Friday," Fort Worth ISD spokesman Clint Bond said. "When the facts have been determined, appropriate action will be taken."

The district did not offer a time frame.
