Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo Offers Boost To Economy

The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is three weeks of cowboys, cowgirls and ringing cash registers with visitors coming from around the world.

"Kids, adults, men, women. Everybody enjoys it," Alan Luskey of Cavender’s Western Wear at the Fort Worth Stockyards said.

According to the Fort Worth Stock Show’s economic impact report for 2015, 414,058 people attended the stock show and rodeo with visitors spending more than $62.4 million.

"I think everyone [benefits] besides Cavenders, besides western stores," Luskey said. "Restaurants, hotels. I think the whole city of Fort Worth benefits from the Fort Worth stock show.”

Cavender’s has several store locations and see a direct impact from the stock show.

"There's 31 performances for the stock show and there's cattle shows...for three weeks straight.” Luskey said. “So, yes we do stock up quite a bit for the stock show."
