Fort Worth Police Searching for Man Who Stole Beer, Assaulted Store Clerk

Man walked out of store without paying, punched store clerk when followed

Fort Worth police are searching for a man they say stole a 12-pack of beer from a convenience store last week before assaulting a store clerk.

Police said a man walked into a convenience store on the 3300 block of Vaughn Boulevard at about 2:30 p.m. Jan. 27 and stole a pack of beer.

The man walked to the beer cooler, picked up a 12 pack, walked past the clerk and out of the store without paying, police said.

The store clerk followed the man out of the store to get his license plate number. When the man saw that the clerk was following him, he punched the clerk several times in the face and head.

The man escaped with two other men in a dark-colored Toyota Corolla or Nissan Sentra. The vehicle had a temporary paper license plate on the back.

An accurate description of the man was not readily available. Police ask that anyone with information to contact detectives at 817-392-4469.
