A driver was shot in the upper torso Tuesday evening during rush hour along Interstate 35W near Carver Avenue in Fort Worth, police say.[[351203281,C]]
According to police, the man was shot at about 5:49 p.m. after an altercation between he and another driver began on Texas 121 and continued onto I-35W.
The driver who was shot managed to pull over near an officer who was responding to a disabled vehicle on the same stretch of I-35W, according to police.
The officer, who's also a paramedic, immediately saw the gunshot wound, put out a bulletin for the shooter's car and called for an ambulance.

The victim, who has not been identified, was rushed to John Peter Smith Hospital, MedStar said. Police said he suffered injuries that were not life threatening.
Multiple bullet holes were visible on the victim's driver's side door.
Investigators said the shooter's vehicle is a newer model four-door gray car.

"It is important [to] always be alert, and that's why we're asking for the public's help," said Fort Worth Police Officer Daniel Segura. "If they heard anything, saw anything in regards to this incident, please give us a call."
Northbound I-35W was completely shut down at Carver Avenue due to the incident, though all lanes reopened by about 7:45 p.m.
