Fort Worth Officer Arrested on Suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated

An off-duty Fort Worth police officer is on restricted duty after being arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a minor crash Wednesday.

The Fort Worth Police Department said officer Brian Blue, 32, was involved in a crash at about 2 p.m. Wednesday with another driver along the 4500 block of South Freeway

Fort Worth police were called to the scene and Blue was placed under arrest.  He is now on restricted duty pending toxicology results.

No one was injured in the crash.

Fort Worth Chief of Police Jeffrey Halstead started the new year with a new, zero tolerance policy: His officers will not be able to get by with breaking the law when it comes to drinking.

“If you are sustained of the violation, you will not work at this organization,” said Halstead in January. “You cannot drink and drive any longer, unless you want to throw your career down the drain.”

Internal Affairs is looking into the actions of two officers, one, Beau Lebouef, accused of boating while intoxicated and the other, Ricky Nichols, suspected of drinking and driving.
