Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price won a fourth two-year term on Saturday, beating her first challenger since she became the city’s leader in 2011.
Chris Nettles, 29, a county worker and father of four, had promised to improve community relations after the controversial arrest of Jacqueline Craig in September.
In an interview Saturday evening, Price said she would focus on schools and jobs in the next two years.
"Obviously the next two years will be all about education and economic development,” she said. “But we have to work on community relations too. We've had some issues come to the surface that we are really going to come to the table and work on."
Nettles hinted he would run again for mayor in two years.
"Those issues have not been resolved,” he said, referring to police-community relations. “And what I'm going to do as Chris Nettles, I'm going to continue to be an activist and I’m going to work to get a Citizens Review Board. I think we still need it."
In Fort Worth city council races, all incumbents won reelection except for Zim Zimmerman in District 3, which includes much of southwest Fort Worth.
